Last Friday, I purchased the Canon EF 135mm F2.8 with Soft Focus lens from the consignment showcase at The Camera Store. This lens has been around since 1987. The copy I bought was made in 2010. For the past four years, I’ve been using the Rokinon 85mm F1.4 as my portrait lens. I didn’t mind manual focus until I realized how convenient auto focus is on the 135mm F2.8. It’s no Canon L lens, but it still creates a very nice image quality. I noticed that there are two soft focus settings. I haven’t tried the soft focus settings yet. I’m not sure if I’ll ever use such a gimmicky feature. Here is the 135mm on my 5D Mark II. I also posted a portrait using the 135mm at f3.5. I really like result of this lens. This lens might replace the Rokinon 85mm.
